Possible Causes

Wine cooler not leveled, Vibrating condenser or evaporator fan, Loose compressor mounting, Tubing or panels touching and resonating

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before adjusting internal components. For leveling, you can leave it powered but avoid contact with moving parts.

  • 1. Level the cabinet: Use a spirit level and adjust the front leveling legs so the unit is stable and does not rock. A slight backward tilt helps door closing.
  • 2. Check for external vibrations: Ensure the cooler is not touching cabinets, walls, or other appliances that can amplify noise.
  • 3. Inspect rear compartment: With power off, check that the condenser fan shroud, compressor, and copper tubing are secure. Add foam pads or clips where tubing contacts metal panels.
  • 4. Test fans: Power the unit and listen near the rear and inside. If noise is clearly from a fan, unplug and inspect the fan blades for damage or obstructions. Replace noisy fan motors.
  • 5. Tighten loose screws: Tighten any loose mounting screws on panels, hinges, and internal brackets.

Note: Some compressor hum and occasional gurgling are normal, but persistent loud rattling indicates a correctable issue.
