Possible Causes
Blocked condensate drain channel, Cracked drain hose, Excessive condensation due to door left open, Activated float switch in base tray
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before tipping or removing base panels.
Steps to address E15:
- Check for water: Carefully pull the wine cooler out and inspect the base for standing water. Use towels or a sponge to remove any water.
- Locate float switch: Many Siemens units have a float switch in the base tray. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the raised (alarm) position.
- Clear drain channel: Inside the cabinet, locate the condensate drain hole (usually at the rear). Use a soft pipe cleaner or flexible brush to clear any blockage.
- Inspect drain hose: From the rear, follow the drain hose from the liner to the evaporation tray above the compressor. Check for kinks, disconnections, or cracks.
- Dry thoroughly: Allow the base area to dry completely before restoring power so the float switch resets.
If E15 recurs frequently, there may be a persistent leak or liner crack that requires professional inspection.
