Possible Causes
Misaligned door magnet, Faulty magnetic reed switch, Loose door switch wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before adjusting switches or wiring.
Steps:
- Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Look for obstructions on the shelves or gasket that prevent full closure.
- Inspect gasket: Clean the gasket and confirm it is not twisted or pulled away from the door frame.
- Locate reed switch and magnet: On many Simzlife models, a small magnet is embedded in the door edge and a reed switch is mounted in the cabinet frame. Verify that they line up when the door is closed.
- Adjust if needed: If the magnet and switch are misaligned, gently adjust the door hinges or switch position to restore alignment.
- Replace switch: If alignment is correct but dE persists, replace the door switch assembly.
