E1 error on display and cabinet temperature reading is inaccurate or stuck

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

Steps:

• Locate the sensor: On most Simzlife single‑zone and dual‑zone models, the upper zone sensor is a small plastic‑tipped probe emerging from the rear liner or side wall vents.
• Visual inspection: Check that the sensor tip is intact and still clipped in place, not dangling or pinched by shelves or bottles.
• Check connections: Remove the interior shelves, then the rear plastic liner cover (usually held by Phillips screws). Trace the sensor wires to the connector going to the main control board. Ensure the connector is fully seated.
• Basic continuity check (optional but recommended): Using a multimeter set to resistance (ohms), measure across the two sensor leads with the sensor at room temperature. A typical NTC sensor will read between 5–50 kΩ. A reading of 0 Ω (short) or OL (open) indicates a bad sensor.
• Replace if faulty: If the sensor is open/shorted or physically damaged, replace it with a compatible Simzlife NTC temperature sensor. Route the new sensor along the original path and secure it with clips or tape to avoid contact with the evaporator fins.
• Reassemble and test: Refit the liner cover and shelves, restore power, clear the error by unplugging for 2–3 minutes, then verify that the temperature display responds over time.
