Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstructing fan blades, Loose fan motor connector at main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before opening any interior panels. Fan blades can start unexpectedly if power is present.
Steps:
- Check for ice blockage: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel. Inspect the evaporator fan area for ice buildup. If iced over, fully defrost the unit by leaving it unplugged with doors open until all ice melts.
- Spin test: Gently spin the fan blades by hand. They should move freely without scraping. If stiff or obstructed, clear debris or replace the fan motor if the shaft is seized.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the fan wires to the connector. Ensure it is firmly plugged into the harness and not corroded.
- Power test (advanced): With the unit reassembled but rear panel still off, plug in and set to cool. If comfortable and qualified, carefully check for 12–24 V DC (or specified voltage) at the fan connector when the compressor is running. No voltage suggests a control board issue; correct voltage but no spin indicates a bad fan motor.
- Replace fan: If the motor is faulty, remove mounting screws, transfer the fan blade to the new motor, and reinstall. Ensure the blade is not rubbing the shroud.
