Possible Causes

Sensor not seated in airflow, Sensor reading ambient instead of cabinet air, Failed NTC sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before removing interior panels.

Steps:

  • Door and gasket check: Make sure the door is closing fully and the gasket is sealing. Warm air leaks can trigger Hi alarms.
  • Sensor placement: Remove the interior panel and verify that the sensor probe is positioned correctly in the air stream, not touching the evaporator coil directly or hanging loose.
  • Reposition sensor: Clip or tape the sensor back into its original location if it has moved.
  • Replace sensor: If the sensor is damaged or readings are clearly inaccurate compared to a separate thermometer, replace the NTC sensor.
  • Monitor: After reassembly, allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize and confirm that the Hi code clears.
