L1 code and interior light does not turn on when door opens

Safety: Unplug the unit before working on the light assembly.

Steps:

• Check light settings: Some Simzlife models allow disabling the interior light via the control panel. Confirm that the light is not simply turned off in the settings.
• Inspect door switch: Locate the door switch (usually a small plunger or magnetic reed switch near the frame). Press it manually and listen for a click or watch the display for door‑open indicators. Replace the switch if it is loose or non‑functional.
• Access LED strip: Remove the light cover or trim to expose the LED strip. Check for visible damage or burn marks.
• Check connections: Ensure the LED strip connector is firmly plugged into the harness. Reseat if necessary.
• Replace LED strip: If the strip is dark and the switch is good, replace the LED light strip with a compatible Simzlife part.
