Possible Causes
Defective defrost heater, Failed defrost sensor, Faulty defrost control on main PCB, Door gasket leaking warm air
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before defrosting or accessing the evaporator area.
Steps:
- Manual defrost: Open the door and leave the cooler unplugged until all ice melts. Place towels to catch water. Do not use sharp tools or hair dryers inside the cabinet.
- Check door seal: Inspect and clean the gasket. Replace if torn or deformed.
- Access evaporator: Remove interior rear panel to inspect the evaporator coil, defrost heater, and sensor.
- Test heater and sensor: With a multimeter, check continuity of the defrost heater and resistance of the defrost sensor. Replace any open or out‑of‑range components.
- Control board: If heater and sensor are good but frost returns quickly, the defrost control circuit on the main board may be faulty and require replacement.
