How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel or touching internal wiring.
Steps to restore control:
- Check for lock mode: Consult the user manual to see if a child lock or control lock is active. Try the unlock key combination if applicable.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes to reset the control electronics.
- Inspect control panel: Remove the control bezel and check the touch PCB or button board for moisture, corrosion, or physical damage.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the UI and main PCB.
- Replace UI board: If still unresponsive, replace the user interface PCB with a SMEG-compatible part.
