Possible Causes
Failed LED light module, Faulty door switch or reed sensor, Loose light wiring connector, Defective light driver on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the light cover or accessing wiring.
Steps to restore lighting:
- Check door switch: Verify that the door-open indicator on the display (if present) responds when opening/closing the door. If not, the door switch may be faulty.
- Inspect LED module: Remove the interior light cover and check the LED board for visible damage. Ensure the connector is firmly seated.
- Replace LED module: If the module appears burnt or tests open-circuit, replace it with a SMEG-compatible LED light assembly.
- Control board: If the switch and LED are good but still no light, the main control PCB's light circuit may be defective and require replacement.
Note: Some models allow manual disabling of the light; confirm settings in the user menu before assuming a fault.
