Possible Causes
Clogged drain hole at rear interior wall, Mold or debris in drain tube, Unit not level causing water to overflow, Cracked drain tray above compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working inside or behind it. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
Steps to clear drainage:
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole or channel at the rear, just above the compressor area.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner, cotton swab, or flexible plastic strip to gently clear any debris from the hole. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- Flush with warm water: Using a small syringe or turkey baster, flush a small amount of warm water through the drain to ensure it flows freely to the rear drain tray.
- Check level: Adjust the leveling feet so the cabinet is slightly tilted back, helping water flow to the drain.
- Inspect rear drain tray: From the rear, verify that the plastic drain tray above the compressor is not cracked or overflowing. Replace if damaged.
Tip: Periodically clean the drain to prevent future blockages, especially in humid environments.
