Possible Causes
Misaligned door magnet, Failed reed door switch stuck in "open" state, Shorted light control transistor on main PCB, Warped door not closing fully
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before adjusting the door or working on the switch.
Steps to fix always-on light:
- 1. Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket contacts the cabinet all around. Adjust leveling feet or hinges if the door is misaligned.
- 2. Test door switch: Locate and test the reed switch as described earlier. If it does not change state when the door magnet is near, replace the "door reed switch" or magnet as needed.
- 3. Temporary mitigation: Until repaired, you can remove the LED light module connector to prevent heat buildup (cooling will work but without interior light).
- 4. Board-level issue: If the switch is working but the light remains on, the main control board's light driver may be shorted and the board will need replacement.
