Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan for one zone, Faulty zone temperature sensor, Diverter damper stuck closed, Zone-specific control relay failure on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels or accessing the control board.
Steps to diagnose a warm zone:
- 1. Compare settings: Verify that both zones are set to appropriate temperatures and not accidentally turned off.
- 2. Listen for fan: Open the door and listen near the divider; you should hear fans for each zone. If one is silent, inspect and replace that zone's "evaporator fan motor".
- 3. Check sensor: Test the NTC sensor for the warm zone and replace if out of specification.
- 4. Inspect damper (if equipped): Some models use a motorized damper to share cooling. Ensure the damper for the warm zone is not stuck closed.
- 5. Control board: If hardware is good, the zone relay or driver on the main PCB may be faulty and the board may need replacement.
