Possible Causes
Shorted cabinet NTC sensor, Stuck compressor relay on main PCB, Miscalibrated control board, Sensor not properly mounted to interior wall
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or the control board.
Steps to correct overcooling:
- 1. Verify with thermometer: Place a separate thermometer inside to confirm actual temperature versus display.
- 2. Inspect sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet NTC sensor is properly clipped to the interior wall or evaporator cover, not touching the evaporator coil directly unless designed to do so.
- 3. Test sensor: Disconnect and measure resistance. A shorted sensor will read very low resistance. Replace with a new "STAIGIS cabinet NTC sensor" if out of spec.
- 4. Observe compressor cycling: After restoring power, monitor whether the compressor cycles off when the set temperature is reached. If it runs continuously despite correct sensor readings, the main control board relay may be stuck and should be replaced.
