How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing interior panels or accessing boards.
Step 1 – Confirm affected zone
- Identify which zone is reporting EC31 or behaving erratically.
- Compare displayed temperature to an independent thermometer in that zone.
Step 2 – Inspect zone sensor
- Locate the zone’s thermistor behind a small cover on the wall or ceiling of that compartment.
- Inspect and reseat the sensor connector.
- Replace the sensor if damaged or if readings are clearly inaccurate.
Step 3 – Zone board check
- If a new sensor does not resolve EC31, the zone control board may be faulty.
- Board replacement and configuration are best handled by a professional.
