Possible Causes

Defective defrost heater or thermostat, Clogged defrost drain causing ice accumulation, Door gasket leak allowing moist air in, Door frequently left open

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before defrosting or removing panels. Do not use sharp tools to remove ice.

Step 1 – Manual defrost

  • Remove all product and shelves.
  • Leave the door open and power off for 24 hours to fully melt ice; use towels to absorb water.

Step 2 – Check door gasket

  • Inspect for tears or gaps; replace if damaged.
  • Ensure the door closes fully and is not obstructed.

Step 3 – Clear drain

  • Clear the defrost drain as described in the internal leak procedure.

Step 4 – Defrost system diagnosis

  • If frost returns quickly, the defrost heater or thermostat may be faulty and should be tested and replaced as needed (see EC50).
