Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice buildup blocking fan blades, Loose fan connector at control board, Faulty fan driver circuit on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing the fan. Fan blades can be sharp.
- Access evaporator fan: Remove interior shelves and rear inner panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- Check for ice obstruction: Look for heavy frost or ice around the fan. If present, manually defrost by leaving the unit unplugged with the door open and towels to catch water. Do not chip ice with sharp tools.
- Inspect fan blades and motor: Spin the fan by hand. It should turn freely without grinding. If seized or noisy, replace the evaporator fan motor.
- Verify wiring: Check the fan’s connector and wiring harness back to the cabinet wall. Reseat any loose plugs.
- Test fan voltage: After reassembling enough for safe operation, plug in and carefully measure voltage at the fan connector (only if you are trained to work on live circuits). If proper voltage is present but the fan does not run, the motor is bad.
- Control board: If no voltage is supplied to a known‑good fan, the main control board fan output may be defective and require replacement.
