Possible Causes
Shorted door frame heater, Open heater circuit, Faulty heater driver on control board, Damaged wiring in door frame
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. The heater circuit is line voltage; avoid live testing unless qualified.
- Identify heater circuit: On certain Summit wine coolers with glass doors, a low‑wattage heater runs around the door frame to prevent condensation. Wires typically run along the cabinet front.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the front kick plate or interior trim to access heater leads. Look for pinched or burnt wires.
- Test heater resistance: Disconnect heater leads and measure resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed heater; a dead short may indicate internal shorting.
- Replace heater if faulty: Install a new door frame heater specified for your Summit model, routing it exactly as original.
- Control board: If the heater tests good, the main control board heater output may be defective and should be replaced.
