Possible Causes
Stuck relay on main control board keeping compressor on, Shorted temperature sensor reading too warm, Incorrect temperature setpoint, Faulty control board logic
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing electronics.
- Verify set temperature: Confirm the setpoint is appropriate for wine (typically 40–65°F depending on type). Adjust if set too low.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in to clear any temporary control glitch.
- Check temperature sensor: Test the cabinet NTC sensor for proper resistance. A sensor that reads too high (low resistance) can cause over‑cooling; replace the cabinet temperature sensor if out of spec.
- Observe compressor cycling: If the compressor runs nearly nonstop even when the cabinet is very cold, the main control board relay may be stuck closed and should be replaced.
- Protect wine: Until repaired, move valuable bottles to another properly controlled storage to avoid freezing.
