Possible Causes
Weak compressor start relay or PTC, Failing compressor drawing high current, Low supply voltage, Overheated compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before touching the compressor or electrical components.
- Check supply voltage: Ensure the outlet provides stable voltage within the range specified by Teka. Avoid using long extension cords.
- Allow cooling: If the compressor is very hot, let the unit sit unplugged for 30–60 minutes to cool down, then try again.
- Inspect and replace start components: Access the compressor start relay/PTC and overload protector. Replace them with a Teka-compatible kit if they show signs of damage or test out of spec.
- Compressor diagnosis: If new start components do not resolve the clicking, the compressor may be failing internally and should be evaluated and replaced by a refrigeration technician.
