Possible Causes
Normal automatic defrost cycle, Stuck in defrost due to faulty sensor, Open defrost heater, Control PCB defrost logic error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: On some Teka models, dF simply indicates an active defrost cycle and is not a fault. If dF remains for many hours and cooling is lost, treat it as a fault.
- Observe duration: If dF clears within 20–40 minutes and cooling resumes, no action is needed.
- Check for persistent dF: If dF stays on and the cabinet warms, unplug the unit and inspect the evaporator area for heavy ice buildup.
- Test defrost components: As with E4, check the defrost sensor, heater, and thermal fuse/thermostat for continuity and proper resistance. Replace any failed parts.
- Reset control: After repairs, disconnect power for 10 minutes to reset the control, then monitor operation.
- PCB replacement: If all defrost components are good but the unit remains stuck in defrost, the main control PCB may be defective and should be replaced.
