Possible Causes

Failed DC fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose or damaged fan wiring, Faulty main control PCB fan driver

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the appliance from mains before working near the fan. Fan blades can be sharp.

  • Access the interior fan: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
  • Check for obstructions: Look for ice buildup, wiring, or packaging material blocking the fan blades. Clear any obstructions and ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
  • Inspect wiring: Verify that the fan connector is firmly seated and that wires are not pinched or cut.
  • Test fan voltage: Restore power briefly and, with caution, measure the voltage at the fan connector when the unit should be running (refer to Teka specs; many use 12 VDC or 24 VDC). Then unplug again.
  • Replace fan motor: If correct voltage is present but the fan does not run or is noisy/rough, replace the evaporator fan motor with a Teka-compatible part. Transfer any mounting brackets or grommets from the old fan.
  • PCB check: If no voltage is supplied to a known-good fan, the main control PCB may be defective and should be replaced by a professional.
