Possible Causes

Defective magnetic reed switch, Misaligned door magnet, Broken door switch wiring, Faulty main control PCB input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before testing or replacing the door switch.

  • Locate the door switch: On many Teka wine coolers, the door sensor is a magnetic reed switch located in the cabinet frame, with a corresponding magnet in the door.
  • Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket seals evenly. If the door is sagging, adjust the hinges so the magnet aligns with the switch area.
  • Test the reed switch: Remove the inner trim or front frame cover to access the switch. With a multimeter set to continuity, place the magnet near the switch. The meter should change state (open to closed). If it does not, replace the reed switch.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the switch wiring harness for damage or loose connections at the main control PCB.
  • Replace faulty components: Install a new Teka-compatible door switch or magnet if either is damaged. Secure it so that the magnet passes directly over the switch when the door is closed.
  • Control board consideration: If the switch and magnet are good but E7 persists, the PCB input circuit may be faulty and require replacement by a technician.
