Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain, Disconnected drain tube, Excessive condensation from door gasket leak, Cracked drain pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near electrical components. Wipe up any standing water to prevent slipping.
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole at the rear (below the evaporator area). Check for ice, debris, or mold blocking it.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or a small plastic probe to gently clear the drain. Flush with a small amount of warm water using a syringe or turkey baster.
- Inspect drain tube and pan: From the rear, locate the drain tube leading to the condensate pan above the compressor. Ensure it is properly connected and not kinked. Check the pan for cracks.
- Check gasket and door closure: Replace a faulty gasket and ensure the door closes fully to reduce excess condensation.
- Monitor: After clearing the drain, run the unit and verify that water now drips into the rear pan instead of pooling inside.
