Possible Causes

Failed upper zone temperature sensor, Failed lower zone temperature sensor, Wiring harness issue between zones and control board, Faulty dual-zone main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before removing interior panels or accessing the control board.

Steps:

  • Identify affected zone: Compare displayed temperatures to actual bottle temperature using a separate thermometer in each zone.
  • Access zone sensors: Remove shelves and interior trim in the affected zone to locate the zone-specific temperature sensor (often mounted on the liner wall or near the evaporator outlet).
  • Inspect and test: Check sensor wiring for damage. Measure resistance and compare to Thermador’s NTC chart. Replace the faulty sensor.
  • Harness check: Trace the harness from the sensor to the control board. Repair any pinched or broken wires and reseat connectors.
  • Control board: If both sensors test correctly and wiring is intact, the dual-zone control board may be misreading one zone and should be replaced.

After repair: Allow several hours for both zones to stabilize and verify that E11 does not return.
