Possible Causes
Failed LED driver module, Shorted LED light strip, Loose low-voltage harness, Faulty main control low-voltage supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working on lighting or control components. Even low-voltage circuits can short and damage boards.
Steps:
- Observe behavior: Note whether lights stay on constantly, flicker, or fail to turn on at all.
- Access LED driver: On many Thermador wine coolers, the LED driver is located near the main control or behind interior trim. Remove the appropriate panel to access it.
- Inspect wiring: Check the LED harness for pinched or cut wires, especially where it passes through the cabinet.
- Isolate shorted strip: Disconnect LED strips one at a time (if multiple) and restore power briefly to see if E12 clears and remaining lights function. Replace any strip that causes the fault when connected.
- Replace LED driver: If all strips test good but E12 persists, replace the LED driver module. If the driver is integrated into the main control, the entire board must be replaced.
