Possible Causes

Misaligned door magnet, Weak door magnet, Faulty Hall-effect door sensor, Control board misinterpreting sensor signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before adjusting or replacing door sensors.

Steps:

  • Check magnet alignment: Ensure the magnet embedded in the door aligns directly with the sensor in the cabinet frame when closed. Adjust door or sensor position if necessary.
  • Test magnet strength: If the magnet is weak or cracked, replace it with the correct Thermador part.
  • Sensor test: Remove the sensor and test with a multimeter or follow service manual procedure for Hall sensor testing. Replace if it does not change state when exposed to the magnet.
  • Control logic reset: After hardware checks, perform a power reset. If E19 persists, the main control board may require replacement.
