Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Failed condenser fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose or damaged fan wiring harness, Faulty main control fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing fans. Keep fingers clear of blades when testing.
Steps:
- Identify which fan: Listen (before unplugging) for which fan is not running: interior/evaporator fan (inside cabinet) or condenser fan (rear, near compressor).
- Evaporator fan: Remove interior rear panel to access the fan. Check for ice buildup or foreign objects blocking the blades. Clear obstructions and ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
- Condenser fan: Remove rear service panel. Inspect for dust buildup, debris, or bent blades. Clean with a soft brush and vacuum.
- Electrical test: With power off, check fan motor resistance across its terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
- Wiring and board: Inspect connectors and harnesses for damage. If the motor tests good but does not receive voltage when commanded on, the main control board may be faulty.
After repair: Reassemble, restore power, and verify that all fans run during cooling operation and that E8 clears.
