Transtherm
Excessive Condensation / Door Seal or Ambient Humidity Issue
Condensation forming on the glass door or around the gasket
Advertisements
Possible Causes
High ambient humidity, Door gasket not sealing, Frequent door openings, Failed door frame heater (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is typically needed; unplug only if accessing internal components.
Steps:
- Reduce humidity: If possible, lower the room humidity or improve ventilation around the cabinet.
- Check gasket seal: Inspect and adjust or replace the door gasket if there are visible gaps.
- Limit door openings: Minimize how often and how long the door is opened.
- Door heater (if fitted): Some Transtherm models have a low-wattage heater around the door frame. If condensation is severe only around the frame, have a technician test and replace the door frame heater if defective.
Note: Light condensation can be normal in very humid environments.
