Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the wine cabinet from mains power before accessing the control board.
Troubleshooting steps:
- Power cycle: Unplug the unit for 10–15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then reconnect. If E6 reappears, continue.
- Access control board: Remove the top, side, or rear control cover (depending on model) to expose the main PCB.
- Inspect for damage: Look for burnt components, swollen capacitors, or signs of moisture on the board. Any visible damage usually means the board must be replaced.
- Check connectors: Reseat all harness connectors one by one, ensuring they are fully engaged and keyed correctly. Pay attention to the display panel ribbon cable.
- Check for moisture: If there is condensation near the board, dry the area thoroughly and improve door gasket sealing to prevent recurrence.
- Replace board if needed: If E6 persists and no external wiring fault is found, replace the Transtherm main control board with the exact part number for your model. Transfer any jumper settings as per the service documentation.
Note: Board replacement involves handling static-sensitive components. If you are not comfortable with electronics, contact a professional.
