Possible Causes

Failed humidity sensor module, Disconnected humidity sensor harness, Faulty humidity control circuit on main PCB, Sensor contaminated by mold or mineral deposits

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the cabinet before working inside or near the control electronics.

Steps:

  • Locate humidity sensor: On Transtherm models with active humidity control, the sensor is typically mounted on the interior wall or integrated into a small plastic module near the evaporator fan.
  • Visual inspection: Check for visible mold, mineral buildup, or water droplets on the sensor. Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth; do not soak the sensor.
  • Check wiring: Trace the sensor harness to the control board and ensure the connector is secure.
  • Test operation: After cleaning and reseating, restore power and observe if E7 clears. Adjust humidity settings and monitor cabinet humidity if a hygrometer is available.
  • Replace sensor: If the error persists, replace the Transtherm humidity sensor module with a compatible part.

Technician note: If a new sensor does not resolve E7, the humidity control circuit on the main board may be defective and the board will need replacement.
