Loud humming, rattling, or vibrating noise during operation
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Cabinet not level, Loose internal components or panels, Vibrating compressor mounting, Noisy condenser or evaporator fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before tightening components or accessing fans.
Steps:
- Level the cabinet: Use a spirit level and adjust the Transtherm leveling feet so the cabinet is stable and does not rock.
- Check for contact points: Ensure the cabinet is not touching walls, cabinets, or other appliances that can transmit vibration.
- Tighten panels and shelves: Tighten any loose screws on side panels, rear cover, and interior shelf supports. Ensure wooden shelves are seated firmly.
- Inspect fans: Listen near the rear and inside for noisy fan motors. Replace the condenser fan motor or evaporator fan motor if bearings are worn.
- Compressor mounts: Check that the compressor mounting grommets are intact and not hardened or missing. Replace compressor mounting grommets if necessary.
Note: Some low-level humming is normal, but loud or new noises should be investigated promptly.
