Possible Causes

Clogged condensate drain hole, Blocked or kinked drain tube, Cracked drain pan, Excessive door openings causing condensation

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the evaporator or drain system.

Steps:

  • Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole or channel at the rear, just below the evaporator cover.
  • Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or flexible plastic rod to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole.
  • Check drain tube: From the rear or underside, locate the drain tube leading to the evaporator pan. Ensure it is not kinked or disconnected.
  • Inspect drain pan: Verify the external drain pan above the compressor is not cracked and is properly positioned to catch water.
  • Clean and sanitize: Wipe away any standing water and clean the drain area with a mild disinfectant to prevent mold growth.

Tip: Keeping the door closed as much as possible reduces condensation and water accumulation.
