Possible Causes

Shorted or misreading cabinet NTC sensor, Stuck compressor relay on control board, Incorrect sensor placement touching evaporator coil, Control board calibration fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing sensors or the control board.

Steps:

  • Confirm with thermometer: Place an independent thermometer inside to verify that the actual temperature is lower than the setpoint.
  • Inspect sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet temperature sensor is mounted in free air, not in direct contact with the evaporator coil, which can cause false readings.
  • Test sensor: Measure resistance of the NTC sensor at known temperatures. Replace the cabinet NTC temperature sensor if readings are out of specification.
  • Check compressor relay: If the compressor runs almost continuously regardless of setpoint, the relay on the main board may be stuck. Replace the main control board if necessary.

Temporary workaround: Until repaired, raise the set temperature to reduce overcooling, but monitor wine closely.
