Possible Causes

Open-circuit upper cabinet NTC sensor, Shorted upper cabinet NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Corroded connector at main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

  • Confirm the symptom: Compare the displayed temperature of the upper zone with an accurate thermometer placed inside. If the display is stuck or shows E1, proceed.
  • Locate the upper NTC sensor: On most TYLZA dual-zone models, the upper sensor is behind a small plastic cover on the rear interior wall or side wall of the upper compartment.
  • Inspect wiring: Remove the interior cover, gently pull out the sensor probe, and check the wiring for cuts, pinches, or corrosion at the connector.
  • Test continuity: With a multimeter set to resistance, measure the sensor. A typical NTC will show several kΩ at room temperature. Infinite (open) or near 0 Ω (short) indicates failure.
  • Replace sensor: If faulty, install a TYLZA-compatible upper zone NTC sensor, route the wire along the original path, and secure it away from the evaporator fan blades.
  • Reconnect and test: Reconnect to the main control board, restore power, and verify that E1 clears and the temperature updates normally.
