Possible Causes
Failed compressor start relay, Failed compressor overload protector, Loose compressor wiring, High compressor current draw due to internal mechanical issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Do not touch the compressor terminals with power applied.
- Access compressor compartment: Remove the rear lower cover to expose the compressor, start relay, and overload protector.
- Check connections: Inspect the wiring to the compressor, relay, and overload for burns, looseness, or discoloration.
- Test relay and overload: Remove the start relay and overload from the compressor. Shake the relay gently; if it rattles excessively or smells burnt, replace it. Check continuity through the overload with a multimeter.
- Replace components: Install a TYLZA-compatible compressor start relay and overload protector if faulty. Ensure they are firmly seated on the compressor pins.
- Restart and monitor: Restore power and listen for the compressor starting smoothly. If E5 returns and the compressor hums then clicks off, the compressor itself may be failing and requires professional replacement.
