Possible Causes
Aging rubber gasket, Physical damage from bottles or cleaning tools, Misaligned door, Chemical damage from harsh cleaners
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before replacing the gasket to avoid the fan or light turning on/off during work.
Steps to check and fix:
- 1. Inspect gasket: Look for visible tears, gaps, or hardened sections.
- 2. Warm and reshape: Minor warping can sometimes be corrected by warming the gasket with a hair dryer and gently reshaping it.
- 3. Replace gasket: If damage is significant, pull the old gasket out of its retaining channel. Press the new Vestfrost-specific gasket into the channel, starting at the corners and working along the sides.
- 4. Check seal: Close the door on a strip of paper at several points. You should feel resistance when pulling the paper out.
