Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Blocked condenser airflow, Failed condenser fan motor, Refrigerant leak or low charge in sealed system
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is on a stable surface and has adequate ventilation. Unplug before accessing rear components.
Steps to check and fix:
- 1. Check door and gasket: Make sure the door closes fully and the gasket seals all around. Look for gaps, torn gasket sections, or shelves preventing closure.
- 2. Verify ventilation: Vestfrost wine coolers require clearance around the condenser. Ensure the rear and sides are not pushed tightly against walls and that the toe-kick grille is not blocked by dust or objects.
- 3. Clean condenser: Unplug the unit, remove the lower rear panel, and gently vacuum or brush dust from the condenser coil. A clogged condenser can cause overheating and poor cooling.
- 4. Check condenser fan: Confirm that the condenser fan (near the compressor) spins freely by hand. After reapplying power, observe whether it runs when the compressor is on. If not, test and replace the fan motor.
- 5. Monitor temperature: After cleaning and ensuring proper airflow, allow 12–24 hours for the temperature to stabilize. The E10 alarm should clear once the cabinet reaches the set temperature.
- 6. Suspect sealed system issues: If the compressor runs continuously, the condenser is warm, but the cabinet does not cool sufficiently, there may be a refrigerant leak or partial blockage. This requires a certified refrigeration technician for leak detection, repair, and recharging.
