Possible Causes

Refrigerant leak in evaporator or condenser, Blocked capillary tube, Partially restricted filter-drier, Severely undercharged sealed system

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: The sealed refrigeration system is pressurized and contains refrigerant. Only certified refrigeration technicians should open the system. Do not attempt to cut or braze lines yourself.

Steps to check and confirm:

  • 1. Basic checks: Ensure the unit has proper ventilation and that the condenser is clean. Confirm that the compressor and fans are running when cooling is demanded.
  • 2. Observe evaporator frost pattern: After 20–30 minutes of operation, remove the internal rear panel and inspect the evaporator. A healthy system shows an even frost pattern across most of the coil. A low-charge system may show frost only near the capillary inlet or no frost at all.
  • 3. Listen for compressor noise: A hissing or gurgling sound and very low current draw can indicate low refrigerant.
  • 4. Call a professional: If E14 is present and basic airflow issues are ruled out, contact a certified refrigeration technician. They will perform leak detection, repair any leaks, replace the filter-drier, evacuate, and recharge the system with the correct type and amount of refrigerant as specified by Vestfrost.
  • 5. Do not bypass safety: Do not attempt to reset or bypass the error without addressing the underlying sealed-system issue; this can damage the compressor.
