• 2. Access the control PCB: On many Vestfrost wine coolers, the main PCB is located behind the top front control panel or behind the rear service cover. Remove screws and gently lower the panel.
• 3. Visual inspection: Look for burnt areas, swollen capacitors, cracked solder joints, or a melted compressor relay. Check that all connectors are firmly seated.
• 4. Check output to compressor: If you are qualified and using proper safety precautions, measure voltage at the compressor output terminals on the PCB when the unit calls for cooling. No output with an E8 error and correct input power strongly indicates a failed board.
• 5. Replace the control PCB: Note all connector positions or take photos. Remove mounting screws, disconnect all plugs, and install a new, model-specific Vestfrost main control PCB. Reconnect all harnesses exactly as before.
• 6. Reassemble and test: Restore power and verify that the E8 code is cleared and the compressor starts normally.
• 7. Surge protection: To prevent future failures, consider using a surge-protected outlet or line conditioner.
