Possible Causes

Stuck relay on main PCB keeping compressor on, Shorted temperature sensor causing false low reading, Incorrect temperature setpoint or calibration, Control board firmware fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing internal components. Handle glass bottles carefully if frost has formed.

Steps to check and fix:

  • 1. Verify setpoint: Check the temperature setting on the control panel. Ensure it is within the recommended range for wine storage (typically 5–18°C depending on zone).
  • 2. Power reset: Unplug the cooler for 10 minutes, then plug back in and recheck operation. Sometimes a control glitch can cause overcooling.
  • 3. Check temperature sensors: Test the cabinet NTC sensors for correct resistance. A sensor reading too warm can cause the compressor to run excessively. Replace any sensor that is out of specification.
  • 4. Inspect compressor relay: On the main PCB, inspect the compressor relay for welded contacts. If the compressor continues running even when the control should be off, the relay may be stuck closed.
  • 5. Replace main PCB if needed: If the relay is faulty or the control logic is not cycling the compressor correctly, replace the main control PCB.
  • 6. Protect wine: Until the fault is resolved, consider moving valuable bottles to another properly controlled storage to avoid freezing damage.
