Wine cooler displays E8 and interior lights or display may flicker or shut off unexpectedly.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker or unplug the unit before inspecting electrical connections. Do not work on live circuits.

Steps to address:

• 1. Verify outlet and circuit: Plug a known-good appliance or outlet tester into the same receptacle to confirm stable power. Avoid using extension cords or power strips with the wine cooler.
• 2. Inspect power cord: Check the Viking power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Ensure the plug fits snugly in the outlet.
• 3. Reset the unit: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. If E8 returns quickly, continue diagnosis.
• 4. Check internal connections (advanced): Remove the upper grille or rear panel to access the main control board. Inspect for loose connectors, burnt components, or swollen capacitors on the board.
• 5. Isolate LED modules: If interior lights flicker or go out with E8, disconnect LED light harnesses one at a time (with power off), then restore power to see if the error clears. A shorted LED module can overload the low-voltage supply.
• 6. Replace failed components: Replace any obviously damaged LED light module or, if the power supply section of the board is burnt, replace the main control board.

When to call a professional: If you suspect internal board failure or cannot safely test voltage, contact a Viking-authorized technician. Do not attempt component-level board repair unless qualified.
