Possible Causes

Door left open or not sealing, Failed compressor or start device, Heavy frost blocking evaporator airflow, Condenser coil clogged with dust

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Always unplug the unit before cleaning coils or accessing internal components.

Immediate actions:

  • 1. Verify door seal: Ensure the door is fully closed and the gasket is intact and clean. Remove any bottles preventing full closure.
  • 2. Check for recent power outage: If power was recently lost, the alarm may sound until the unit cools back down. Allow several hours for temperature recovery.
  • 3. Clean condenser coil: Pull the unit out, remove the rear lower panel, and gently vacuum or brush the condenser coil. Improved airflow can restore proper cooling.
  • 4. Inspect for frost buildup: Look inside for ice on the rear panel or shelves. Heavy frost suggests a defrost or door seal issue; defrost the unit fully by unplugging and leaving the door open until all ice melts.
  • 5. Listen for compressor and fans: With power restored, confirm that the compressor and both fans run. If the compressor is silent or clicking, see compressor-related faults; if fans are not running, see fan-related faults.

After corrections: Once airflow and sealing issues are resolved, clear the alarm by pressing the alarm button (if available) or power cycling. Monitor temperature for 24 hours.
