Possible Causes
Clogged evaporator drain hole, Frozen drain tube, Cracked drain pan, Unit not level causing water to overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before working inside the cabinet or near the drain system.
Steps to clear leak:
- 1. Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole or channel at the rear, below the evaporator cover.
- 2. Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or flexible plastic rod to gently clear debris from the drain hole. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- 3. Flush with warm water: Using a turkey baster or syringe, flush warm (not boiling) water through the drain to melt any ice and push debris into the rear drain pan.
- 4. Check unit leveling: Ensure the wine cooler is level front-to-back and side-to-side so water flows properly to the drain.
- 5. Inspect rear drain pan: From the rear, verify the external drain pan under the compressor is not cracked or overflowing. Replace if damaged.
