Possible Causes
Aging or drifting temperature sensor, Sensor not in correct location, Control board calibration drift, Poor air circulation around sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or the control board.
Steps to improve accuracy:
- 1. Verify with multiple thermometers: Place at least two accurate thermometers in different locations inside the cabinet to confirm actual temperature.
- 2. Check sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet sensor is properly clipped to the liner or in its designated well, not dangling or touching the evaporator coil.
- 3. Replace sensor: If the sensor is old or readings are inconsistent, replace the cabinet temperature sensor with a Viking-compatible part.
- 4. Control calibration: Some models allow a small temperature offset adjustment in service mode. If available, adjust according to the service manual.
