Possible Causes
Aging thermistor, Poor sensor placement, Control board calibration offset
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or the control board.
Steps to correct inaccurate temperature readings:
- 1. Verify with a reliable thermometer: Place a calibrated thermometer in the center of the cabinet away from walls and compare readings after several hours.
- 2. Check sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet thermistor is properly mounted in its original location and not touching the evaporator coil directly unless designed to.
- 3. Replace thermistor: If readings are consistently off by a large margin, replace the cabinet thermistor with a Vinotemp-compatible part.
- 4. Control calibration: Some models allow minor temperature offset adjustments via the control panel; consult the user manual. If not adjustable and the error persists, the control board may need replacement.
