Steps to resolve E3 (ambient sensor):

• 1. Confirm installation environment: Ensure the cooler is not installed in extreme temperatures (typically 50–90°F / 10–32°C). Very hot or cold rooms can trigger sensor-related errors.
• 2. Locate the ambient sensor: On many Vinotemp models, the ambient thermistor is located near the front grille or rear air intake, sometimes behind a small vented cover.
• 3. Inspect sensor and harness: Check that the sensor is intact and not hanging loose. Look for crushed or cut wires, especially where they pass through metal panels.
• 4. Test the thermistor: Disconnect the sensor from the control board and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Vinotemp's thermistor chart. Replace if reading is open, shorted, or far off expected value.
• 5. Replace and secure sensor: Install a compatible ambient thermistor, mount it in the original location, and secure wiring away from hot compressor lines and moving parts.
• 6. Reset and test: Plug the unit back in and allow it to run. The E3 code should clear if the sensor circuit is restored.

When to seek service: If the sensor tests correctly but E3 persists, the main control board may need replacement.
