Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between display and main board, Damaged touch control panel, Faulty display PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel or display bezel.

Steps to troubleshoot E7:

  • 1. Inspect the control panel: Remove the front control panel bezel (usually held by clips or screws). Carefully pull it forward to access the display PCB and ribbon cable.
  • 2. Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect the flat ribbon or harness between the display and main board, then reconnect it firmly. Ensure it is fully inserted and locked.
  • 3. Check for moisture or corrosion: Look for signs of liquid intrusion around the display area. Dry any moisture and clean light corrosion with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
  • 4. Test buttons: With the unit reassembled and powered, test each button. If E7 remains and buttons do not respond, the display PCB may be faulty.
  • 5. Replace display/control panel: Order the correct Vinotemp display or user interface board. Transfer any decorative overlay if required, install the new board, and reconnect the ribbon cable.

Note: If a new display does not resolve E7, the main control board may have a communication fault.
