Possible Causes

Stuck relay on control board keeping compressor on, Shorted temperature sensor reading too warm, Control board logic failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooler before accessing electronics. Protect wine from freezing by temporarily relocating bottles.

Steps to address L1/LO:

  • 1. Verify setpoint: Confirm the set temperature is appropriate for wine (typically 45–65°F). Reset to a higher temperature and see if the unit responds.
  • 2. Power cycle: Unplug for 10–15 minutes, then plug back in. Observe whether the compressor cycles off normally after reaching temperature.
  • 3. Check cabinet thermistor: Test the cabinet temperature sensor as described for E1. A sensor that reads too high will cause overcooling. Replace if out of spec.
  • 4. Inspect control board relays: Look for a relay stuck closed (contacts welded). If the compressor runs continuously regardless of temperature, the relay or board is likely faulty.
  • 5. Replace control board if needed: Install a new Vinotemp main control board if sensor replacement does not correct the issue.

Note: Persistent overcooling can damage wine; do not ignore this condition.
