Possible Causes
Clogged drain hole or tube, Cracked drain pan, Excessive door openings causing condensation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooler before removing interior panels. Mop up standing water to prevent slipping.
Steps to fix water leaks:
- 1. Locate the drain: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole at the rear or bottom where defrost water should exit.
- 2. Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or plastic straw to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- 3. Flush the drain: Pour a small amount of warm water mixed with mild vinegar into the drain to flush the tube.
- 4. Inspect external drain pan: At the rear or bottom of the unit, check the drain pan that collects water. Ensure it is not cracked or overflowing. Replace if damaged.
- 5. Reduce condensation: Minimize door openings and ensure the door gasket seals properly to reduce moisture buildup.
